Fam. Abfalterer

1947

Gottfried Abfalterer begins his apprenticeship as a shoemaker with Nikolaus Oberhollenzer (“Tembl Niggl”) in St. Johann. At first, he not only works in the workshop but also travels on the “Stör” (a type of horse-drawn carriage) as was customary at that time, and crafts shoes upon request at the customers’ homes. First as a journeyman, later as an independent foreman

Establishing a Travel Trading Business for Footwear

1963

Opening of a shoe store in Luttach

1973

Expansion of the leather goods business in Luttach

1983

Opening of a business in Mühlen in Taufers

1995

Son Norbert learns the trade of shoemaking and obtains the master’s title.

1997

Opening of a 2nd store in Luttach

2005

Company founder Gottfried Abfalterer passes away at the age of 74

The children, Norbert, Rosmarie, and Karl, take over the family business

2007

Renovation of the shop in Mühlen in Taufers

Renovation of the shop in Luttach on the Main street

Renovation of the shoe store in Luttach, Dorfstrasse

Matthias and Magdalena, children of Rosmarie Winding-Abfalterer, follow in the footsteps of her mother
